NATION'S CAPITAL COUNCIL
The Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital has a combined girl and adult membership of over 90,000. Girls participate in 4,900 troops with the help of dedicated adult volunteers who give their time, talent and energy to Girl Scouting.
As the preeminent leadership development organization dedicated soley to girls, we offer the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, where girls Discover themselves, Connect with others and Take Action to create positive change in their communities. The process is girl-led and encourages learning by doing and cooperative learning.
Our council serves the entire Greater Washington Region , including Washington DC; in Virginia: the cities of Alexandria and Arlington, and Arlington, Clarke, Fairfax, Fauquier, Frederick, Loudoun, Page, Prince William, Shenandoah and Warren counties; in Maryland: Allegany, Calvert, Charles, Frederick, Montgomery, Prince George's, St. Mary's and Washington counties; and in West Virginia: Berkeley, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, Mineral and Morgan counties.
