Girl Scout Brownie Handbook

As many other reviewers have said, I was looking for a guide to all the badges. My daughter is motivated to earn badges and learn new things. She would love a book where she could pick what she wants to do. I still remember loving this as a Brownie.

It's a cute LITTLE book. The content is good, what little content there is. Nothing like the Girl Scout book from the past. I would gladly pay 3 times as much if it had all the try-its/badges and how to earn them. Now there isn't a way to see what you might want to work on. In MY day, me and my other Girl Scout friends would browse our book when we were bored and be able to find some activities we could do towards earning a new badge. SO SAD the girls can't do that nowadays. This current book is basically a complete waste of money.

Please put badge requirements back with a full handbook. Even the add-a-badge as they came out format was better than this. This feels cheap and is a slight to our Girl Scouts who need the physical requirements to look through to make their Girl Scout experience girl-led. The special feelings of flipping through, working on, and truly owning a badge book are all lost with a reliance on the VTK. Do better.

As a new leader, this is a joke. It doesn't give any information about the badge requirements. I am about to sign my daughter up for cub scouts, because they have an actual printed out book with all badges available. I volunteered to start a troop, but might call it quits over just horrible lack of information. It's a shame.

My troop is just starting brownies so I bought this to help plan out the badges, but it is useless for that. There are no badge requirements and I don't know what girls would do with this book if they purchased it. C'mon girl scouts! You make it very hard for volunteer troop leaders to plan. Please make the badge requirements available to girls and troops in one spot so that we have the resources we need to lead troops

Please print us a handbook with all the badge requirements and other helpful scouting information like we had in the 1980s and 90s! Scouts love to read their handbooks and look through all the badges they can earn. Looking through the handbook was one my favorite Girl Scout things to do as a kid (as for many women! It’s also much harder for scouting to be girl-led when they don’t have a handbook with all the badges in them. BSA has a full handbook for girls now, with tons of information on various scouting skills. Why is Girl Scouts shifting away from printed materials? Please give us the old handbooks back!! Full handbooks are a Girl Scouting tradition!

I would agree with the reviews on this page.. Why can't I buy a badge book for my girl scouts? Why is there nothing available? It is making the leader position very confusing and difficult!

I am so frustrated that there is no longer a single handbook with all the badge requirements in it. It makes no sense!!! I want to be able to peruse all the badges and their requirements before choosing a badge to work on. That you have to order a separate pamphlet for each and every badge is idiotic. Can you at least put all the pamphlets together in a binder with the handbook and make a complete guidebook please?!

I wish the handbooks still had the badges included. Good for what it is, but lacking useful information.

This is little more than a pamphlet. The GS handbook used to have all the badges in it. This one doesn’t even give you directions for a single badge. Badge requirements are all sold separately now. GS is now a nickel & dime operation. You have to get it though, your girl won’t feel like a scout without it.

This is a great book for my new Brownie Girl Scout.
