Girl Scout Trefoil Rosewood Knife

Just bought this at a GS store today, and am so disappointed for my daughter, who was excited to get it, using money and a coupon she earned / was awarded.
<br>•Several of the tools take incredible strength to unfold--difficult for an adult man, impossible for my 11 year old. The stiffness makes it unusable, and dangerous, as it's likely to snap closed while struggling to open.
<br>•The main blade came dull (a dull knife is a more dangerous knife). Worse, the alignment is bad, so every time you open or close the blade, the edge scrapes along the metal liner, dulling it more. So even if I sharpen it, it will dull from a few openings, and be right back to dangerous.
<br>•The wood saw is also dull, and literally couldn't saw through a couple sheets of paper... how's it going to saw a small stick for marshmallows?

I bought this knife 4 plus years ago and use it frequently at camp. I find it very useful not only for me but for my Senior age troop members as an attractive yet functional knife for well trained girls! The price point is perfect! You don't have to make a $60 plus investment for a great knife which makes this knife my favorite choice for a girl member who is ready.This knife lives in my daypack!
