Official Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Vest

Perfect, so easy to get essential patches already put on. It was a huge lifesaver.

The vest is a true adult size, so don't be fooled by the sizing indication of "teen," and shop accordingly. Some reviews suggested sizing up so girls can wear them with a hoodie, but following that advice will result in a vest that is too large for her uniform. Instead, buy your daughter's normal size, while allowing for future growth, if she's a new Cadette.

My daughter is bridging from Cadettes to Seniors and needed a new vest. This vest is 40% recycled material. First, it feels thin and cheap compared to the older vests that are cotton and polyester. Second, it scorches when trying to apply iron on patches. This is very disappointing considering 99% of official Girl Scout patches are iron on. (Seriously... Applying official Girl Scout insignia on her new vest scorched it, when using the same iron and techniques that did NOT scorch her older Cadette vest. My troop leader took the vest to show others.) It took time and effort, but I found an old vest that was just cotton and polyester. I had no problems ironing on insignia with that vest.

Wish we could add our Troops Crest on the vest....

The sizing on these are nothing like any girl's clothing size. They are also huge, my littlest cadettes look silly in them.

There is kind of a fishy smell coming from the vest. The size was fine but it smelt really bad.

New fabric not as sturdy, sizing the same as before

The description says it runs small. So we ordered a teen xl, based on the sizing chart. (Not sure why Girl Scouts is using "teen" sizes.) It's so big, my daughter is swimming in it. Will be returning!

It was a size large, but seemed more like a medium. The cut of the fabric seems slimmer.

Even if this is to fit for a kid's growth over several years, it's way too large for a 6th grader to start off with (and I have a tall 5'2" 11-year-old!). The word 'Teen' in front of the sizes is deceiving - makes you think it's in between kid and adult, adolescent sizing when it is adult sizing. Remove 'Teen' and say 'Adult' or nothing (not youth, not kids). Returning a Teen XL that is more like a women's 1X. Going with a Medium to account for some growth. Hopefully, that works!
