Official Daisy Vest

The sizing on this item is terrible. Girls in my troop who wear size 7 needed XL (10/12) in this vest. Also the material has changed and it’s very difficult to get iron on patches to stick.

It is small as other reviews stated. My daughter is 5 and i got thr 7/8 but could have gone up to the next size.

Overpriced and would appreciate the option to have the badges applied.

True to size. Measurements on the website are accurate. Don’t be afraid to go up a size.

I followed the other reviewers' suggestions and went a size up. I thought it was probably going to be a terrible idea because I was moving my kids S (6-6x) daughter up to a M 10-12 according to the site. Whew, I'm glad I did. It fits fine. If it's too big on her, I can't tell. They need to rethink the way they size these online. Mentioning the 10-12 made me think I was going up to double her normal size, so it seemed like a huge leap. If you're in doubt, I hope this review helps. I can't imagine how small a vest would have been in her own size.<br><br>The material is thin and unlined, which is a bummer because I went ahead and sewed all the patches on. All the thread shows if you have to do that--and I recommend at least sewing the corners of the patches if you're ironing them on just to make sure you don't lose any when some of them inevitably fall off. <br><br>So much cost for something so thin that isn't even lined. It's kind of shameful, really. Anyone halfway decent at sewing could have made this at home for super cheap. (Insert, "back in my Daisy days the material was better quality" comment here.)<br><br>My girl is happy to be a Girl Scout though, and if she's happy, that makes a lot of this cost worth it imo. (Still, GS, could be cheaper so it's not income-exclusionary to fully participate, right?)

I read that it runs small and it does. Size way up! Other then that is washes well and the patches are easy to iron on.

The vest has some challenges. First, it runs small. Thanks to other reviews saying the same, I ordered a size up - which ended up being a good fit. The other challenge isn't so easily remedied. The iron-on badges and patches don't stay on this material. My husband ironed on the troop number - following all directions - only to have the numbers slide and end up wonky. The only upside is that the material made it easier to get the badly adhered numbers back off so that he could try again with fabric glue. I'm hoping to be able to avoid having to sew the patches on, but that looks like the direction we're going.

<br>I haven't seen how all the badges and patches go on yet, though, as I'm still waiting for a number of items from an order I made in July.

Great vest, but it does run small. I also had trouble ironing on patches—here’s how I’ve done it.

<br>On the front of the vest, put the badge where you want it and cover with a thin cloth. With no steam on high heat, use your entire body weight to press the iron on the cloth over the badge for 30 seconds. Then flip the vest over and put the pressing cloth over where the badge is on the front. Press another 30 seconds with your full body weight. At the end you should be able to see the design of the patch through the inside/back of the vest. It’s worked great for me!
