The vest is a nice color and has pockets (yay!) but it is made of a very thin material and runs VERY small. I read reviews that warned of the snug fit so I went up one size larger than I normally do and that fit worked.

Sorry, not impressed. I wear a 14-16 but had to buy a 3x for a better fit. Very poorly made. I especially hate that it’s made from materials that do not iron well.

This vest is a must for anyone who is a leader or active volunteer. The pockets are great and the fit is perfect. My co-leader and I both have one and we wear them to every meeting. When we are in the community people immediately identify me as a GS volunteer.

This vest is a good first effort in furnishing an insignia vest for adults, but it needs substantial improvements.

1. Country of origin - USA has the capability for superior garment manufacturing. This imported vest looks cheap, and wrongly sized for American ladies and women (not to mention men). I'll suggest find an USA-based facility to make them.

2. Material - There are better fabric options that are stronger and stretchable. Somebody suggested canvas cotton. I'll suggest performance cotton with spandex for stretching (because of the needed suitability for sporty movement and camping). This vest does not have even a little bit of stretch, a very minus!

3. Fit - I agree with other commenters about the inadequate fit. It should be a bit wider at the hips, form-fitting at the bust, and the pockets larger and deeper to allow volunteers and leaders to carry their phones, small notepads, keys, and other convenient items. One good feature is the wide armholes for layered winter use.

4. Men's sizing and fit - Men do need their own version of the vest!

5. Zipper - The plus is that it is a metal zipper (even with their own set of gliding problems which can be resolved with better and superior zipper metal material). The minus is that the zipper holder is too small. Maybe for the vest version 2.0 the zipper holder can be a bit larger and/or with a fabric lace like those in sports vests.

6. Neck - This feature can be improved with a slightly larger, flexible, and bendable neckline. The current neck looks awkward and uncomfortable, and I can feel the zipper with it, which scratches my neck.

7. One positive design feature is the horizontal seam at the front and back panels. I use this as a guide to place my insignia, so please do not change it.

I hope these comments will help you with the development of an improved design for the vest 2.0. I look forward to see this new version!

This is great however the neckline should be able to turn down. Two sizes two small for women who have had children and big busts.

These vests are not sized properly! Most leaders don't have them because there is no size for them. They run at Least two sizes too small! They are well made and sturdy for girls but not women of average or plus size. Please hear our plead! Nylon zippers, and turn down collars would be wonderful, as well as bigger pockets because leaders need big pockets! Oh and wider at the hips, we have had children.
P.S. My husband is a leader and so is another of his friends. I know there are many Dad leaders, and there is no vests or uniforms for them. It's time.

I am a male brownie troop leader, and in this day and age I am extremely disappointed in the lack of an official men's leader vest. I am having to learn how to use a sewing machine just to make my own... Which my girls are, of course, learning as well :-). This vest is very well made though, IMHO. Those who complain about the zipper sticking obviously haven't learned how to wax a zipper.
I love you, but you've got to get with the times and get some adult male uniforms, GSA!

Perfect gift for a new leader. The best way to appreciate a new leader is by giving them a uniform with the title.
