I would order up to two sizes bigger. I ordered the 10-12 size for a 6 year old and they barely fit! The material is horrible and after one wash they shrink and look like you have slept in them. Same horrible material as the new brownie skort.

Super cute, great quality, nice medium-thick, soft fabric. Love that it has real pockets in the front and back. But it's very long and a little big on my small (42-lb) 6-year-old. We got the XS/6-6x size and it's a few inches longer than size 6 from the Target Cat & Jack brand pants. Looser than leggings.
